The U.S. economy had to negotiate several hurdles in the first quarter of 2015, which made it feel similar to the first quarter of 2014, when severe winter weather hampered economic activity. Weather was also a factor in the first quarter of this year, while a West Coast port strike, the strong dollar’s impact on exports, and less energy capital spending also hindered economic activity
